How to Run in Forsaken: Sprint Controls, Stamina and Speed Math

How to run in Forsaken: hold your Sprint keybind on PC, mobile or controller. Survivors run 26 for 10 s on 100 stamina; killers run 27–28 — the math.

Here is how to run in Forsaken: hold your Sprint keybind (or the sprint button on a phone or controller) and your character jumps from walking speed to running speed while the stamina bar in the bottom-left drains. Let go and it refills. For a survivor that means going from 12 to 26 studs per second, burning 10 stamina a second out of 100. The Official Forsaken Wiki's Settings page lists Sprinting as the first rebindable action under Keybinds, but it does not print the default key, and it lists no toggle-sprint option — so the only way to know your key for certain is to open Settings → Keybinds in the lobby and read it. Below are the steps for PC, mobile and controller, then the part most guides skip: the arithmetic. How many seconds a full bar lasts, how far that carries you, how long the refill takes, and why a killer with only one or two extra studs per second still closes the gap. All values are from the Official Forsaken Wiki, October 2026 (https://forsaken.wiki/Game_Mechanics), and every derived number shows its working so you can check it. For the wider picture of the game, start at the Roblox Forsaken Guide hub or the homepage at /.

Running on PC

On a keyboard, running is a held key, not a press. The wiki's Settings page groups Sprinting with Toggling Shift Lock, Interacting, Emoting, the Main Ability and the four Alt Abilities as the controls you can change. If you are working out how to run in Forsaken on PC, here is the sequence that works whatever your key turns out to be.

Step 1: Find your Sprint key in Settings → Keybinds

In the lobby, open Settings and go to the Keybinds section. Sprinting is the first entry. Read the key assigned to it, or click it and press a new one if the default sits badly under your fingers. Because the wiki does not publish the default, treat whatever this screen shows as the answer — it is also the only place that reflects a rebind you made weeks ago and forgot.

Step 2: Hold it while moving

Hold the Sprint key while you move. You only run while it stays held; release it and you drop back to walking. Survivors run at 26 studs per second against a 12 walk, so the key more than doubles your speed (26 ÷ 12 ≈ 2.17×).

Step 3: Watch the stamina bar, bottom-left

The stamina bar sits at the bottom left of the screen. It falls 10 per second while you sprint and, after a brief pause once you stop, refills 20 per second. If you want the number in the middle of the screen instead, the wiki lists a Center Stamina Counter setting under Customization, with a Stamina UI Size slider beside it.

Step 4: Let go before you hit zero

Emptying the bar completely locks regeneration for 2 seconds (Game Mechanics). Releasing at 5 or 10 stamina avoids that lock, so the refill starts sooner. The bar also turns red at zero to show the delay, a change the wiki records in the Chapter 2 update log.

Step 5: Never hold Sprint on a generator

Holding the sprint button while wiring a generator exits the puzzle, and re-entering generates the wires again (wiki, Generators). That behaviour was added on purpose in the Alpha Release so the puzzle could be closed with the sprint key, which is why reflex-sprinting when a terror radius starts costs you the puzzle you were on. Our Forsaken Controls & Keybinds 2026 covers the other rebindable actions in full.

Running on mobile

On a phone or tablet the mechanics are identical — same 26 run speed, same 100 stamina, same 10-per-second drain — only the input changes. The wiki does not document where the sprint button sits or what it looks like, so these steps stick to what it does document.

Step 1: Locate the sprint control before a round

Do this in the lobby, not during a chase. Your on-screen buttons include the sprint control alongside the ability buttons; the wiki only notes that the mobile buttons were once shifted slightly left so players could see all their abilities. Find it once and your thumb will remember it.

Step 2: Hold it with your movement thumb free

Keep the sprint control held while you steer. As on PC, you only run while it is held, and the stamina bar drains at 10 per second for the whole time.

Step 3: Keep thumbs off it while wiring

A generator puzzle on mobile is a grid of taps and drags. Holding the sprint button exits the puzzle and resets its wires, so rest your thumbs on the grid, not near the sprint control. Our Forsaken Mobile Guide 2026 - Controls, Settings & Tips covers layout and sensitivity in more depth.

Step 4: Know what is a toggle on mobile — and what is not

The wiki records two abilities that became toggles on mobile only: Jane Doe's Crystal Pitch and Guest 666's Demonic Pursuit. Sprint is not on that list. Items work by tapping the screen after equipping them, so drinking a Bloxy Cola is a tap, not a hold.

Running on console/controller

The wiki documents controller play through its settings and patch notes rather than a button map. The Alpha Release log says the developers "adjusted the default keybinds on Controller", and the Chapter 1 log notes that console sensitivity scales with your Roblox sensitivity. Neither names the sprint button, so the steps below point you to where you can read it.

Step 1: Read the Sprinting binding in Settings → Keybinds

Open Settings in the lobby with your controller and check the Sprinting entry under Keybinds. Treat that screen as the source of truth for your button, exactly as on PC.

Step 2: Hold it while you push the stick

Sprint is held on a pad too. The numbers do not change by platform: 26 run, 12 walk, 100 stamina for every survivor.

Step 3: Set Minigame Sensitivity before you wire

Two settings exist specifically for controller players and both affect generators, where a stray sprint input costs you progress. Minigame Sensitivity (Controller) changes cursor and wire speed in the puzzle. New Console Minigame replaces the usual wire-dragging with an alternative the wiki has not yet described (it reads "TBA").

How long can you run?

Ten seconds for a survivor on a full bar, about 11.6 for a killer. The table below works it out from the wiki's stamina values, and the notes here show each step so you can redo the sums if the numbers change in a patch.

Survivor sprint: 100 ÷ 10 = 10 seconds

Every survivor has 100 stamina and loses 10 per second while sprinting, so a full bar gives 10 seconds of running. At 26 studs per second that is 260 studs. Walking for the same 10 seconds covers 120 studs (12 × 10), so the full bar is worth 140 extra studs of distance — that is what you are spending each time you hold the key.

Survivor refill: 100 ÷ 20 = 5 seconds, plus the lock

Regeneration is 20 per second, so 0 to 100 takes 5 seconds of refilling. If you emptied the bar completely, add the 2-second lock first: 7 seconds before you are full again, plus the brief start-up delay the wiki mentions but does not time. Release at 10 stamina instead and you skip the lock: refilling the remaining 90 takes 4.5 seconds. That is why the habit of letting go just before zero pays off.

Killer sprint: 110 ÷ 9.5 ≈ 11.58 seconds

All current killers have 110 stamina, lose 9.5 per second and regain 21. 110 ÷ 9.5 = 11.58 seconds of sprint, and 110 ÷ 21 = 5.24 seconds to refill from empty. Two more details from the Game Mechanics page matter: killers only lose stamina while within 85 studs of a survivor (when the path to that survivor is also under 120 studs), so they can cross the map at full speed without draining at all.

Stamina, drain, regeneration and run speeds: Official Forsaken Wiki (Game Mechanics and character infoboxes), October 2026. Sprint time, distance and refill columns are our arithmetic from those values. Killer drain only applies within 85 studs of a survivor. The Golem row assumes the infobox's one listed drain (9.5) also applies in Golem form.

Why the killer still catches you

Because every killer is faster, has a bigger bar and refills it faster. Survivors run at 26; killers run at 27 to 28, and Azure's Golem at 30. The gap looks tiny until you stack the three advantages.

The straight-line gap

Against a 27-speed killer (1x1x1x1) you lose 1 stud per second while both of you sprint; against a 27.5-speed killer (Noli, Nosferatu, Guest 666) you lose 1.5; against a 28-speed killer (c00lkidd, Slasher) you lose 2. A 20-stud head start therefore lasts 20 seconds against the first, about 13.3 against the second and 10 against the third — if you could sprint that long. You cannot: your bar runs out at 10 seconds, theirs at about 11.58.

Worked example: 30-stud lead against c00lkidd

Both start sprinting with full bars. After 10 seconds you have covered 260 studs and c00lkidd 280, so your 30-stud lead is down to 10. Now your bar is empty and you walk at 12 while he still has about 1.58 seconds of sprint left at 28: the gap closes at 16 studs per second, and 10 studs disappear in 0.625 seconds. The chase is decided by stamina, not by the 2-stud speed difference alone.

The far-away advantage

Killers do not drain stamina while they are more than 85 studs from a survivor, so they usually arrive with a full 110. You, meanwhile, may have spent half your bar getting to a generator. The Forsaken Survivor Speeds & Stats 2026 page lists every survivor's stats side by side; the short version is that every survivor runs at 26, Helperbot (joined 16 October 2026) included, so the only way to change these sums is with the effects in the next section. For how to spend the bar wisely across a chase, see Forsaken Stamina Management 2026, and for killer-by-killer stats the Forsaken Killers hub.

Things that change your speed

Speed adds 10% to walk and run speed per level; Exhausted makes stamina drain 10% faster and refill 10% slower per level; Slowness cancels Speed level for level. Here are the sources a survivor actually meets, with the resulting numbers where the wiki gives enough to compute them.

What is the sprint key in Forsaken on PC?

Whatever Settings → Keybinds shows next to Sprinting. The Official Forsaken Wiki lists Sprinting as a rebindable control but does not state its default key, so we will not guess one. Open the menu in the lobby, read it, and rebind it if it is awkward.

Is there a toggle sprint setting in Forsaken?

Not one the wiki lists. Its Settings page has a Toggle Chargeable Abilities option, but that only covers held abilities such as Void Rush and Demonic Pursuit, not sprinting. On mobile, Crystal Pitch and Demonic Pursuit are toggles; sprint is still held on every platform the wiki covers.

Do some survivors run faster than others?

No. Every survivor's infobox reads walk 12, run 26, stamina 100, drain 10, regen 20. Differences in a chase come from abilities and items — Bloxy Cola, Noob's Bloxy Cola, Elliot's Rush Hour — not from base stats.

Why did my generator close when I started running?

Holding the sprint button exits a generator puzzle, and the wires are generated again when you re-enter. That is deliberate — the Alpha Release added it so the sprint key could close the puzzle — so walk away instead of sprinting if you want to keep the puzzle you were working on.

Does the killer lose stamina when sprinting far away?

No. Killers only drain stamina within 85 studs of a survivor (and only if the path to that survivor is under 120 studs). Outside that range they sprint for free and arrive with a full 110.
