Builderman is the closest thing Forsaken has to a team engineer — and the only survivor who wins rounds by building things rather than running from them. Most survivors contribute by staying alive. Builderman contributes by changing the map. His Sentry slows the killer down where it matters, and his Dispenser gives the team a healing station that keeps working after he has moved on. At 500 Player Points he is one of the cheaper survivors in the shop, which makes him an unusually strong early pick for players who would rather support than sprint. One thing to clear up before anything else: Builderman is a Survivor, not a killer, despite what several guide sites still claim.

Builderman is a survivor, not a killer

If you searched for a Builderman killer guide, you were misled — and possibly by us, since this site carried that error until July 2026. The Official Forsaken Wiki lists Builderman under Survivors with a Support classification. He has no killer kit, no killer stats, and cannot be played on the killer side. The confusion probably comes from guide sites adapting content from other asymmetrical horror games and assigning roles by vibe rather than by checking.

Who Builderman Is

Forsaken casts its roster from real Roblox history, and Builderman is the most literal example: he is built on David Baszucki, the platform's CEO, and the @builderman account that has existed since the beginning. In the game's fiction he was one of the first Robloxians, went on to lead Roblox HQ, and helped construct modern Robloxia alongside a close friend.

His place in the story

Builderman worked alongside Shedletsky, Doombringer, and John and Jane Doe, and the wiki notes he frequently wondered why John and Jane Doe had been away on leave for so long — a detail that lands differently once you know where both of them ended up. At some point he was Forsaken by The Spectre like everyone else on the roster. What makes him interesting is the guilt: he tries to protect the Admins and other Survivors specifically because of mistakes he feels responsible for.

Relationships worth knowing

Shedletsky was an administrator who worked under Builderman, and the two were close friends. Dusekkar was also an administrator under him and likewise a close friend — which is a nice touch given both are Support survivors who complement each other well in practice. He misses Doombringer, having not seen him since being trapped in The Spectre's realm, and still believes Doombringer is governing the Banlands as assigned. He is unaware of what Doombringer has actually done.

How he looks

Grey-skinned Robloxian in the Turbo Builders Club Hard Hat, a grey and red ROBLOX hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes. It is a deliberately plain, recognisable silhouette — useful in practice, because teammates can spot a Builderman across a dim map and route toward his Dispenser.

Playing Builderman: Placement Is Everything

Builderman's power is entirely in where he puts things. Both his abilities are placed objects rather than instant effects, which means his skill ceiling is about map reading rather than reaction speed — a genuinely different kind of good than most survivors demand.

Sentry: slow the killer where it hurts

The Sentry exists to slow the killer down and protect whoever is currently being chased. That framing matters: a Sentry placed in an empty corner does nothing, while a Sentry covering the approach to a busy objective buys real seconds for whoever is working it. Remember that Forsaken rounds are decided by a clock — every second the killer spends slowed is a second closer to the timer expiring in your team's favour. Think of Sentry placement as buying time on the round, not as dealing damage.

Dispenser: a healing station that outlives you

The Dispenser is a good source of healing for any survivor who needs it, and its great strength is persistence — you place it, and it keeps serving the team while you go do something else. The instinct newer Buildermans have is to place it near themselves. The better habit is to place it near the objective cluster your team will keep returning to, so injured teammates never have to detour far. A Dispenser in the right place is worth more than a Medkit pickup because it serves everybody, repeatedly.

The Support mindset

Builderman is not built to win chases and you should stop expecting him to. His job is to make everyone else harder to catch and faster to recover. If you finish a round with unremarkable personal stats but three teammates alive at the timer, you played him correctly. Pair that mindset with the survivor role guides at /forsaken-survivors and you will see how he slots into a team rather than competing with it.

Pro Tip

Place your Dispenser before the killer knows where you are, not after. Support placements made under pressure are almost always worse than the same placement made calmly thirty seconds earlier — and placing anything while being chased usually just gets you caught.

Builderman in a Team

Support survivors compound. Builderman with another support is not redundant, it is layered — and understanding which pairings work saves you from a team that is all engine and no wheels.

With Elliot

Elliot heals actively; Builderman heals passively through the Dispenser. Together the team's health economy becomes very hard to grind down, which specifically blunts killers who win through chip damage. The risk is over-investing in support and having nobody who can hold a chase — pair the two only if a Two Time or similar runner is also present.

With Dusekkar or Taph

All three slow the killer down in different ways — Sentries, Spawn Protection, Tripwires and Tripmines. Stacking slows across different mechanics is generally stronger than stacking the same one, because it forces the killer to solve several problems at once. It is also thematically neat, given Dusekkar and Builderman were close friends in the lore.

What Builderman needs from teammates

Somebody who can survive a long chase. Builderman's setup takes time, and time only exists if the killer is busy elsewhere. A team with a strong chase survivor gives Builderman the quiet minute he needs to place things well; a team of four supports gets pressured off objectives before any of them finish setting up.

Builderman FAQ

The questions players actually search about Builderman.

Is Builderman a killer in Forsaken?

No. Builderman is a Support Survivor per the Official Forsaken Wiki. Several guide sites list him as a killer; they are wrong, and we were among them until we audited our content in July 2026.

How much does Builderman cost?

500 Player Points in the shop, making him one of the more affordable survivors. Player Points are earned by completing puzzles, using abilities, and surviving — see /blog/forsaken-player-points-guide for how the currency works.

Is Builderman good for beginners?

He is good for beginners who like supporting. His abilities are placed rather than reactive, so you are not punished for slow reflexes — but you are punished for bad map knowledge, which beginners also lack. Noob is the gentler starting point; Builderman is the natural second pick once you know the maps.

Who is Builderman based on?

David Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, and the @builderman account. Forsaken is built as a tribute to Roblox history, so much of the roster maps onto real platform figures and folklore.

Final Thoughts

Builderman rewards a kind of play most asymmetrical horror games do not support well: setting up the battlefield rather than reacting to it. Place Sentries where the killer must walk, place Dispensers where your team will keep returning, and measure your success in teammates alive at the timer rather than in personal escapes. At 500 Player Points he is cheap enough to experiment with, and different enough to be worth the experiment.

  • Support Survivor — definitively NOT a killer, despite common misinformation
  • 500 Player Points; one of the more affordable roster picks
  • Sentry slows the killer; Dispenser gives the team persistent healing
  • Placement quality, not reflexes, is his entire skill ceiling
  • Pairs well with Elliot, Dusekkar and Taph; needs a chase survivor on the team
  • Based on David Baszucki and the @builderman Roblox account
